Carl has been a lifelong musician. He made the finals of the ‘Ted Mack Talent Search’ in 1968. It was the ‘American Idol’ of its time. That same year, he played and sang on television at eleven years old.
His musical journey joined the family band at fourteen, hosting radio shows, winning the Wisconsin State Band Championship, and playing every honky-tonk, dance hall, and large event under the sun. With the Jackson Family, he was inducted into the Central Wisconsin Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
His first solo release was “Shootin’ Out the Lights” in 2011. His solo act features originals and many popular and eclectic covers. His second album “White Collar Hippie” was released in September 2019.
His vintage Fender Telecaster gets a great workout with the Barn Dance Band. The close harmonies of the group make for a great show covering several genres of historically great songs. Carl continues to enjoy a lifetime of picking and singing.
